Affordability

Families across North Carolina are being squeezed from every angle. Rents are rising faster than wages, groceries cost more every month, childcare is out of reach for too many parents, and medical bills remain the number one cause of bankruptcy in America. Even as people work longer hours and take on second jobs, the cost of living keeps climbing, leaving too many families struggling just to make ends meet. At the same time, corporate profits have hit record highs while politicians in Washington look the other way.

Jacob knows affordability is not just about numbers on a spreadsheet, it is about whether families can build a stable and dignified life. That is why he supports raising the minimum wage, lowering prescription drug costs, tackling corporate price gouging, expanding affordable housing, and investing in childcare and education. He also believes that increasing teacher pay and ensuring access to pre-K are critical to giving every child the strong start they deserve and improving long-term outcomes for families and communities.

With the right priorities, we can build an economy where working people are not constantly forced to choose between rent, food, and healthcare. Jacob will fight to make North Carolina a place where every family has room to breathe and room to thrive.
